The 8 Best Ways to Pair Boots With Dresses This Spring

Thanks to the arrival of the hottest and brightest days, the desire to wear lighter clothes grows every day. It is not yet time for sandals and swimwear, but then what to wear until summer arrives?

One of the most comfortable and versatile combinations is mixing light dresses with transitional shoes like boots. Abandoned the dark colors of winter, the boots declined in warmer and clearer nuances help us in creating cool looks that are suitable for a milder climate. Not all boots are the same though, each model has its own rules to create perfect mixes, most of all depending on how they fit different body shapes. What are these rules? Let's see them now!

Ankle boots

Ankle boots suit to any look, for those more indie chic they are perfect in their rounded toe version and in the shades of cognac or sand, combined with sangallo dresses or fluttering dresses with floral prints. To complete a more elegant look instead with a black sheath dress, a black or red pointed ankle boot is more suitable. But beware: ankle boots, whether in neutral shades such as cognac or sand, or in dark colors, are not suitable for those who do not have a slender physicality or for those with a wide calf. For the shorter girls it is recommended to wear them in skin-colored tones and with heels that give greater length to the legs, for those who have wider legs the advice is not to wear them with dresses or skirts. There are definitely better combinations for you!

Combat boots

The masculine style of the combat boots makes them perfect to be paired with sheer dresses, which will give the outfit a more romantic look. To be chosen in their simple version and without frills, in the classic version in black leather they are perfect to be combined with a long floral dress for a casual style, while to create a very cool contrast try them with a long dress in dark silk. A contrast look that won't let you go unnoticed. But be careful, as for ankle boots, even the combat boots paired with short dresses are not suitable for those who have wider legs, they break the figure at a critical point. While in this case too they are perfect in combination with a long dress, but better to choose them with at a little heel in order to flatter your figure.

Knee high boots

Knee high boots could be worn 365 days a year, excluding days at the beach of course. Unlike boots that cut the ankle, high boots have the advantage of giving continuity to the leg, hiding defects or abundant calves and giving a much more harmonious appearance. Knee high boots in neutral tones will be perfect to be worn with a white cotton dress with a belt at the waist that leaves only a small part of the leg uncovered, but if you want to have a boho chic touch wear them with a long floral dress, you will be absolutely glamorous. In case you have issues finding boots that fit your wide calf, you can find them in our shop online both in leather or suede, with heel or flat, but above all you can choose the shaft sizes that best fit your calf

Over the knee boots

Go ahead for over the knee boots, just choose them in lighter materials such as suede. Try the combination with a jeans shirtdress, choosing boots in soft colors such as sand or cognac. If the jeans version is too casual for you, match them with a mini dress in pleated chiffon in a bright color, but keep your black boots in this case. Give a bon ton touch instead with the combination of black over the knee boots and a white dress with a slightly flared cut. There are just few measures to use to avoid mistakes, if you have a larger shape in the lower part, it is always better to choose a dress with structured shoulders that gives a more balanced effect, on the contrary if you have a larger shape in the upper part you should choose a flowing cut. Assolutamente versatili!
